So the Atem had controlled that puzzle also gone the deep end. Wondering how to treat this, how far did this Yuugi go? How far did the corruption go? He was once a person who did what he could to save anyone life but after seeing death happen before him… well he realize not everyone could be save. Not unless they truly reach for it…
“A game eh..? Alright. Fair deal.” he said quietly keeping his hands inside his pocket and looking at him.
“Long as you promise to hold your end of the deal then… I will keep mine.”
There were twists and turns. Hopefully Yugi’s life had become enough of a rabbit warren to keep the juiciest details to himself. Then again other versions of his line were quick to pick up weak points for exploitation. Still if he could keep this Yugi guessing long enough to put himself at peace it would be worth it. He liked to eliminate those he didn’t need to pursue quickly. He preferred peace, despite his shell, if he could have it and if this Yugi was an enemy…
“I do my best to always keep my word,” he inclined his chin in the ghost of a curt nod, promising. “So, then; where is your Atem?”
At this Elder one raise his eye brow again, what is with that question… he asked before and he wonder if it had any meaning to it. “My Atem? Surely you jest I hope.. I am far too old for playmates don’t you think?” he chuckled. “But I suppose I did promise to be good didn’t I? Such a pity..” a sigh, “He is in the afterlife as he should be. Why other reason would he have to hang around here? Denied death so many thousands of years ago, it would be rather cruel of me to want him back when the man deserve peace don’t you?”

“But I suppose it would be my turn to ask as to why you are asking such a question. What does it matter if I have one or not?” and he kept himself prepare for anything.
